Mela 4 – AUv3: Synth, FX, MIDI 4.8

Mela is a versatile music production tool that can be tailored to meet your specific requirements. Boasting an intuitive interface, this software allows you to craft personalized polyphonic synthesizers, original audio effects, and elaborate MIDI processors seamlessly. Mela operates as a standalone application on iOS and macOS or as an AUv3 plug-in within various DAWs such as AUM, Drambo, and Logic Pro.

A Mela preset comprises organized modules placed on lanes that handle audio and MIDI signals. Each lane can transmit signals to and receive signals from the host or other lanes via buses. The modulator modules are designed to modulate any parameter of any module on any lane. Users can easily add, remove, or rearrange lanes and modules to achieve the desired level of complexity or simplicity in their presets. Featuring 52 modules, Mela introduces new ones with every update. Below are examples from different module categories:

• MIDI processors: arpeggiator, chord, note echo, scale, strummer
• Synth building blocks: virtual-analog oscillator, FM operator, phaseshaping, noise, filter, amp envelope
• Modulators: envelope follower, envelope generator, LFO, macro control, MIDI source, random
• Audio effects: chorus, delay, distortion, flanger, phaser, compressor, comb filter, EQ
• Utility: level metering, audio oscilloscope, MIDI capture, MIDI logger

Within a host environment, Mela can be loaded in one of the following plug-in formats: Instrument, Audio Effect, or MIDI Processor. The distinctions lie in the number of audio and MIDI inputs and outputs each type offers; otherwise, the features are consistent across all formats. A preset crafted in one format can be seamlessly opened in another.
